I have had the realization as of late, that Emma is starting Kindergarten and things will never be the same! I am trying to go and, and do, and be with her every free moment. That means the house is a disaster, Bali is not getting for as many walks as she should, there are weeds in the lawn, projects that need to be accomplished, jazz classes that need to be taken.... However I am enjoying our time together immensely - all those other things will still need to be done later:)
Olive is on the move - standing and exploring every chance she has, cooing and gurgling up a storm. She loves her big sister, and is SLOWLY starting to warm-up to Elliott, but all in all she is a total mommy's girl. She slept through the night last night for the first time (exactly 9 months!), and of course I woke up a number of times to go check on her to make sure she was OK:)
OG standing a few weeks ago, really the first few times she did it.
The best dog ever.... always up for any child crawling, pulling, climbing all over him!
Papa Jim came to visit for a few days towards the end of June and Olive was actually really good with him! Here he is encouraging her to walk - against my will:)
Favorite play place - the dishwasher!!! Her and Bali both!
It has been HOT HOT HOT this summer, and the mini pool has come in handy... However it is no substitute for the outdoor pool at the gym!
I came in to our room and hound this - how sweet! She is so dang independent, but a snuggle bug at night - Em Pat out!
This is what happens at 6:30 am, when you wake up at 5am!!! For some reason, she is an early morning girl, too. Oh well, i do enjoy the quiet time we have together before the rest of the family wakes up.
We have only made it on a half of a bike ride - Emma got hot and tired and Olive cried until she fell asleep. I was hoping Em and I could go all the time this summer... Maybe in August?
What you lookin' at mom? I'm just climbing up a couple of stairs - no biggie!
AND INTO the cupboard!
One of the pre-kindergarten trips was to Minnehaha Falls this past week, for a picnic with my mom. Emma had to check out the falls with her binoculars from Papa and Nana Hinrichs.
Figuring out what the sign says...
Me and my girls - LOVE THEM!
The sassy one - in a moment a quiet defiance:) Notice the nail polish on her cheeks?
After the Falls we went to the fabulous Izzy's for homemade ice cream. My mom and I enjoyed Salted Caramel - SO good!
That's it for now - gotta go rescue big sister from little sister pestering!
Love to all
