Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins with Emma on Sunday...  she was not so interested.  As a matter of fact she was totally disgusted by the "guts"!  She was however enthralled with pouring the seeds in and out of the bowl, and even enjoyed pouring them BACK into the pumpkin!  She was quite excited when she figured out that she could take the top off and on too.

She has another word... Apple!  And did I mention that she pats her leg and tells the dogs next door to come?

She only slept a 1/2 hour at Carol's today (some teeth are coming in I guess, as she could be part of  a wet-t-shirt contest, the way  the drool is pouring out of her mouth!).  So we had  a pretty unhappy afternoon, and she was sound asleep by 6:30!!!!

Love to all...

monkey

Em is exploring her "monkeyness"...  Busy climbing on the chairs, standing on them, pushing as far away from the table as she can, jumping on the couch, jumping on the chairs, trying to climb onto the ledge of the tub....  Good lord!

More Leaves!!!

Emma can't enough outside time this fall....  You notice her hands off the ground in the picture where she is lying in the leaves - she can't stand to been onher stomach that way in the grass or leaves, and will stay that way until you move her!!!

She has been practicing her words too....  Emma is a common one, and today she got "bye-bye" down pat, and now she is "singing" the ABC's!  She doesn't know what she is saying and it is WAY off key (really there is no key!), but Carol said that when they sing it at daycare she sings right along!!!!!

Love to all...

Outside Time

We have been spending so much time outside, soaking up all of the nice weather we can.  It seems that staying here with the Loerch's, and then Elliott in town too, we just are so haphazard!  i don't get anything done, even though there is only half of the stuff to do!!!

Emma has been chattering up a storm, and even branching out with a few words....  She said "Emma" when she saw herself on the computer screen, lawnmower, "Dada" when prompted (otherwise he is Mama!), she sits and reads books.

Other new things, she LOVES Grandpa Loerch's compressor (!), when she has pooped she will pat her bum and look at you and wave bye-bye.

Elliott and I were able to celebrate our anniversary today - 8 years married!!!- going to see two movies and getting Emma her Halloween costume (she is going to be a fisherman -with a little Dora the Explorer fishing pole)....

Love to all....

Apple Pickin'

Elliott, Emma, Grandma Loerch, and I all went to Emma Krumbee's Farm on Sunday, to pick apples and pumpkins.  Well they were having the Scarecrow Festival, and had a HUGE hay able hill for her to climb among other places to explore.  Thes following pictures are from when we made it over to the apple orchard section.  Emma would pick and apple, take a bite, spit it out, and then reach for another apple!  It was so fun to watch - she was enthralled!  Elliott got her to take a bite of his, too.

Pictures form the pumpkin patch to follow tomorrow...

Em is babbling up a storm, telling us things over and over again.  She is determined to get her pants on all by herself, and gets VERY angry if you try to help her.  We went to Chili's tonight (thank the lord for chili con queso and chips!!!) and Emma enjoyed getting the ice out of my glass and putting it into her dad's, she enjoyed  breaking up the chips into tiny little pieces and dropping them all over (yes I did clean up the floor before we left), she didn't enjoy the chocolate milk like we thought she might, and the mac-n-cheese tasted way better when eaten with her hands!!!

Guess that's it for now.... love to all...

fall in mn

i have an emmrhoid in my arm, so only using one hand right now:)  these are pics of emma from last weekend.  you can see how long her hair is getting - but neither of us has the heart to cut it yet!  she has a new giant coloring book with washable crayons (this is helpful when her crayon get "away from her"), and she loves to pu tit up on the foot stool, and then sit on TOP of it when coloring.

She was out exploring in the backyard and discovered the wheelbarrow turned over, and was so distraught (she can't stand things out of place or fallen over).  She we pu tit upright and then she thought she needed to get in it!!!!!

she has got a terrible cold this morning, so I'm hoping that gets better this weekend.  We are planning on going to a place called "Emma Crumb's" this afternoon to pick apples and get some pumpkins (we can't wait to see what she does!).

We sure are missing those who are not near us right now, and thinking of you daily.....

love to all....

Emma got a new "big girl" plate!  it has ballet slippers all over it and it says Emma on it - ya for TJMaxx:)

Elliott got into town on Friday night and it has been wonderful having him here.  The two of them are so enamored with each other.

she seems to be clearly saying "up" now, so we've got that and "moo" and "no" going for us:) Mama, Dada, and Grandma seem to come out as "ana".  She has really enjoyed sticking her hand down the front of her diapers and pulling out some poop - surprise!  this seems to be especially entertaining in front of Carol, her daycare lady (where she is soooo happy by the way - she can barely tear herself away to give me a kiss goodbye in the morning:)).

She still enjoys pushing around her baby from Great Grams Patterson, and her dolly (my old Cabbage Patch Kid), loves carrying purses, and big ole farms, and pulling her huge wagon (she is ALL girls yet so Frank the Tank).

I gotta go to bed...... love to all...

Great Grandma Dorothy

Emma and I went out to visit Great Grandma Dorothy last sunday.  We brought apples and pumpkin muffibs for breakfast, i was feeling a little fallish (October in MN will do that to ya).  Emma enjoyed ransacking Grandma's apartment!  She ran ALL around a wanted to touch ALL of Grandma's exciting glass things:)  She especially enjoyed climbing onto the rocking chair and "clapping" her feet...

so tired... love to all...
