Em and Tom

Poor Thomas, he just gets mauled by Emma every chance she gets! He is so good though and pretty much lets her do what she wants. However yesterday I was in the living room clenaing up after Cooper and all of a sudden I heard a"meow" and then Emma crying.... Poor girl:( She loves him SOOOO much! Who knows what happened, there were no scratches or bites or paw prints on her, but I;ll bet he swatted at her and it's pretty intense. So I'll have to keep a better eye on them.

Em learned to brush her hair yesterday! Don't think she likes it much though. AND she survived coming to the dance studio with me! She fell asleep on the way, so that was great. And she never saw me, so that made a HUGE difference too:)

We are off to buy her b-day gifts today, then haveing a few friends over to celebrate for her and El tonight. Love to all...

Em and Coop

I had a request for pictures of Cooper - so here he is! You can see he is getting HUGE! Emma love to go in his kennel, especially if his shiny silver food bowls are in there. You will notice the red bag Em has, she LOVES to carry around that tote, put things in and out of it, shake it, chew on the handles, etc.

YEsterday we rand a couple of errands and went to the grocery store. She pushed the cart below me!!!! We made a few heads turn:) And she took a huge bag of potatoe chips hostage and ran off with them! She is such a silly monkey.

Rain Gear

Here is sweet Em in her raincoat (and scarf form dad!). We went out to get her birthday presents last Sunday (Easter) and ALL the stores were closed, and it was POURING rain!

The second pic is Ms. Em chasing after Thomas. He finally jumped on the table after about 10 minutes of her pummeling him:)

Not a whole lot else new here. Love to all...

She knows what she wants!

Emma has been busy moving furniture! Her high-chair more specifically.

One quick story today..... I went to pick Emma up from Jessica's this afternoon, as the girls were still asleep when she would have usually brought them to the Attic. We were on the floor getting ready to get Emma all packed up and ready to go home. Jessica offered Emma one piece of cereal. Well, Emma pushed that hand away and reached into her other hand holding ALL of the other pieces of cereal!!!!!!! Jessica and I were laughing so hard. It was hilarious! We always joke because Emma grabs a handful of Cheerios's to put in her mouth, where as Aliyah will take ONE Cheerio at a time:) Our little girl knows what she wants!!!!

Dolls and Dresses

Emma has taking a liking to carrying her dolls around the house! It is so cute, and she pats them like she does the animals. Here she is trying to put "Tottie" into the zipoc baggies box.

And the other pictures are of her in her dress, getting ready for Easter Dinner. Elliott bought her the dress when they went on their shopping spree.

I forgot to mention that she now has a tooth brush! And she loves it. She'll actually let me brush her teeth for a few seconds, and then she walks around with it hanging out of her mouth. I figure that is good for her teeth and gums too:)

Happy Easter

Happy Easter! We will join John and Allison today for an Easter Egg hunt at their family's. I went and got Emma a basket and we look forward to seeing what she does. Elliott said she is not so fond of the grass yet, so we will see how it goes!

We went to John's parents, Denise and Big John, for dinner today. It was so lovely, as always they make us feel so welcome. On the way we noticed that Cooper's paw was HUGE and swollen! He had jumped out of Elliott's truck a week ago and limped for a few days, bust then seemed fine. Well, El and John decided to run tot he vet (ours didn't have any appointments) and ended up having to go to the "emergency" vet, spent basically 3 hours there, and missed all of "Easter Dinner". I mean, they did eat before they left, but still! Good thing they went though, as poor Cooper had a compound fracture!!!!!! He has it in a splint for 8 WEEKS! Right, we'll see how long that lasts! Poor buddy.... I am ALWAYS wiping his feet when he comes in from outside, so I would have noticed if it was swollen. We assume it happened from the truck, but who knows. him and Roscoe play pretty hard.

Anyway, I have some ADORABLE pictures of Emma in her dress today, but I will post them tomorrow as I am too tired after chasing Emma around all afternoon! We have her corralled in here at home, but at new places she has free range, and I don't get a free minute!

Oh, so we turned Em's car seat around today! She is officially :forward facing"!!!! What a little big girl. Someone today asked if she was 18 months old.... :)

Lil' Gymnast

Here is the toy I got Emma when we went for our Adventure at Fred Meyer yesterday. She loves the one htat Jessica has, but of course she is only lsightly interested in it here (why would you want that when you can play with a mop???).

She has also been practicing her gymnastics lately. When she is tired she will often rest herself like this! How funny! She can take her arms off the floor even and balance a bit.

Today Em and I ran tot he outlet mall and got a bigger size in some shirts that her dad had bought her last weekend. We returned a couple of things too, then headed back home. Poor girl hadn't really napped, so finally about 1:30 she went down for 2 1/2 hours! It is so funny because I never really have time, but when I have this much time, then I don't know what to do with myself! Well, there is always "house" stuff do, but sometimes I just need a break! Thankfully sweet Jo from SLC called and we had a good chat.

Guess that's about it from here. We are off to Easter dinner with John, Allison, and Mason tomorrow, at John's family's house. On Sunday we'll join them in a n Easter Egg hunt!!

No...

It is true, Emma has learned to shake her head "no"! It is so dang cute. She has been doing it for about two days now. When I say "no" and shake my head, she shakes her head no. However, I don't think she associates it with "no", and if she does, she doesn't care! Ha!

She is obsessed with cords and the electrical outlets that they plug in to! How terrible. So we are really having to keep an eye on her, the stinker.

Today I had a work meeting, so Emma stayed with Elliott this morning. This afternoon Emma and I went for a leisurely trip to Fred Meyer. I thought it would be fun to let her play in the toy aisle, and boy did she play. As a matter of fact she pretty much picked things up and walked around (this is also her favorite activity at home). Her favorite was a big Thomas the Train with a handle that she could hold onto. I swear it was half as tall as she was. She was also really into a Dora the Explorer set of dolls (I think though that she was just into the box because she carried that all around). At one point she was pushing the cart!!!!! Down on the lower level of it, like she does on her stroller. Golly, she loves to push and carry things! Who knows why, but the mop, at home, is a new favorite too!

Woman's Work....

I am so busy!!!! First I have to get my purse ready for shopping, then I have to organize the cupboard, and somehow I have to figure out how to get these clean clothes upstairs, and if that isn't enough I have to mop the floors!!!!

I have also been working on my animal sounds and "baaaa" seems be going well, and I am fond of the pigs oinking sound. I have also been interested in this crazy "waving" thing people do! They even do it when the dogs leave!

Love to all, emma

Mom's Day OFF!!

Yes it is true, I had my first full-day-off yesterday! I went to class in the morning, then stayed down in Seattle for a baby shower (a girl who went to the U of U and all of her dancer friends, a number of them also from the U of U). It was WONDERFUL and so lovely to see people who know my history, and I their's. We chatted about what each other was doing, it was great.

Emma and Elliott had Daddy-Daugher-Day! They went on a shopping spreeeeeeeeee. First to Costco, and then with Uncle Jason to the outlet mall! I told Elliott that Em needed a hoooded sweathshirt if he could find one. Well, he found her many clothes (I am sure it was an adorable sight to see!)..... a pair of pants, a dress, a long sleeve polo top, three short-sleeve hooded tops, a long sleeve outfit with pants for fall, a pair of sandles with an adorable "lemon" outfit. But no hooded sweatshirt:)

All-in-all pretty dang cute when HE wanted to have show-and-tell when I got home:)

They did have a MAJOR poopy-blowout. Imagine Jason and Elliott, Emma in the front seat of the truck stripped down to just her shoes and socks, a pile of poopy "wipes" on the ground beneath Elliott as he is cleaning her, and then Emma pulling her hand up to show Elliott the handful of poop she just grabbed!!!!! Then imagine Emma pulling up the OTHER hand with ANOTHER handful of poop......... IT IS TRUE!!!!! I was laughing SOOOOO hard, ?I wish I had seen it, maybe?:)

Well, I am off to read for a bit. Love to all...

Who needs toys?

Emma can have so much fun with the goofiest things sometimes! She LOVE the baggies and thinks it is a blast to empty them one by one. We have a huge lot of them from Costco in a lower cupboard. I suppose we won't wnat to put much in them now!!!! HA!! As I write this she has just pulled a box out of the cupboard and is walking through the family room dropping them:)

We went to the mall yesterday and did a few returns. Emma waved for the first time - to a complete stranger of course!!!!! We were eating at Panera and there she went waving away. It was pretty cute, but she was a bit loopy. She seemed tired, but she didn't sleep the whole way home, nor did she take an afernoon nap! So wha knows what is going on with this girl.

So waving was her big accomplishment of the day. More later. Love to all...

What?

Notice her hands out to the side in the second picture? This is her new communication and it is so dang cute! She'll hold them out to the side and look and you and make a noise like "what?" or "uh-oh" or "idon't know". Oh man it is so fun. Please excuse the lack-o-pants. Sometimes she needs a little freedom and she LOVES it!

The "cookie jar" is her new toy of choice. She will caryy it all over the room, bend down and look inside and take something out, put something back, then be back on her way.

Yesterday Em and I did a little shopping and she did SO good! Of course she got a new book, I just love getting her books for some reason (maybe becasue Grandma L buys all of her clothes?:)) She took two long naps so had a rough time getting to sleep last night, but she is officially sleeping through the night! So no complaints here.

Today we may go to our music class if she naps early, otherwise we need to go make some returns at the mall. So I guess that's about all!!!!!

Happy Friday and Love to all....

Shoes and socks too!

So Emma knows that her shoes and socks go on her feet. She is ALWAYS taking them off in the car, and at home, and then trying to figure out how to put them back on. So cute! She is just learning so many new things so quickly. Notice the pen and paper? Maybe she's ready to write!

She also has learned to walk backwards - with her walker. She has done it a couple of times and is so proud when she does it.

Her "speech" (specific grunts and mostly vowel sounds!) is coming along with hand gestures. She has learned to hold her arms and hands out like when you say "what?". SO FUN!!!!!! She is doing it ALL the time. And today she noticed and pointed at the kittens in the book we were reading (she is obsessed with Tom and Mattie). Our little girl is growing up:) :(

Poor thing has gotten a cold and I am pretty certain it is the one that Aliyah had when emma stayed home with me for a day and then with Elliott, becasue we didn't want her to get it from Aliyah! Well, that may have beena moot point becasue she started tog et a cough this afternoon, and it is ALL in her chest, and it sounds lik eher voice might be going! Butno fever yet.....

Ok, well, love to all....

Who let this monkey out of her cage?

We had a lovely time at the Zoo with John, Allison, and Mason. Emma didn't respond quite like I thought, but I think she had a hard time locating the animals in all of the surrounding nature! We looked like a caouple of pack-mules with the stroller loaded with my purse, diaper bag, blanket, umbrella, camera bag, AND one of us carrying the child "back-pack" or Emma!!!! IT was funny:) Elliott thought Em needed this tree frog.... she burried her face in it right away! Cute....

IN the Cupboard

Oh Emm, she is such a little explorer. And there is NO FEAR in the little bugger either! This morning she woke up at 5:45 - yes that is AM:) We were going to go to breakfast out but changed our minds. Anyway, Em was all dressed with no where to go - so she decided to get INTO the cupboard and see what she could find. How cute!?

I went and took class today - HEAVEN! I guess El took Emma to the mall and had her in the "back" pack the whole time. What and adorable sight that would have been to see!

She ate a HUGE lunch he said, then I gave her a bottle when I got home - but of course NO NAP! She will fight it for all she is worth. We took a walk with the dogs and Em loved it.

She was ready for bed by 6:15 the poor sweet thing!

Love to all...

Pants

Emms spent a good 1/2 hour last night waking around with her pants! I think first of all she was thrilled to have nothing on, and second of all, it is simply what she does. She was just thrilled. She would put them on her head (another common occurance with things) and then she would put them at her legs.... she KNEW where theyw ere supposed to go! It was so fun to watch.

We went to our "music together" class yesterday. Emma was thriled to be banging things together, AND to go off exploring the game room:) The stink was SOOO tired but she wouldn't nap until 2:30! That is way crazy for her.

Today she will play with dad while I go take my class. Tomorrow we are going to the zoo with John, Allison, and Mason. I think Emma is going to LOVE it!

Oh boy - we're going out to breakfast! Love to all...

Bed Head

Boy her hair is getting long! She has these whisps that often stick in all directions, especially after she has slept. The lower picture is her huggin gmy legs, which is a new thing that I am over the moon about:)

Emma has started "dancing", grooving out to all sorts of music! It is soooo cute. She has also started "clicking" her tongue. This is something that I noticed Aliyah does so maybe she has picked it up from her, or maybe it is just "that time" that she explores that. Her other new favorite thing is Fake coughing - seriously- she will respond to our fake coughs with one of her own. This can go on fo rmany minutes and she gets the biggest kick out of it.

Really into things

Well El is just going to get Emma up from a 2 1/2 hour nap! I certainly hope she isn't getting sick! She slept through the night again, every night since Friday so I will keep my fingers crossed.

You can see in the second picture that she is actually crawling INTO the cupboards now. The FIVE of us enjoyed a nice walk last night. We let the dogs run in a field a couple of blocks from our house and Emma was screeching and bouncing, she was SO excited to watch them!

You can see in the last picture that she actually figured out how to vacuum for real! I guess that's about it for now. Lvoe to all...
